This week we celebrated the retirement of Denise after an incredible 48 years in nursing.
Starting her nursing journey in 1978 and training in Orthopaedic and General Nursing, Denise has dedicated her career to caring for others across medical wards, ICU, CCU, and in a Ward Sister role. She has been a Nurse at The Westbury Care Home since 1999, and we will all miss her greatly.
Throughout her career, she has touched countless lives, helping people recover, maintain comfort, and face life's challenges with dignity and compassion. Along the way, she has created lasting memories and friendships and has made an immeasurable difference to those in her care.
Thank you, Denise, for your unwavering dedication, kindness, and commitment to nursing. We wish you a long, happy, and well-deserved retirement.

Today we were delighted to welcome the lovely therapy dog, Coco! 🐾
Coco knows her way around The Westbury and headed straight for the lounge to meet our residents. She loves nothing more than curling up on laps for cuddles and lots of affection.
She always brightens everyone’s day, and there were plenty of smiles all around from both residents and staff.
Thank you, Coco and her wonderful owner Penny! We can’t wait to see you both again soon.

🌼 Today, during a walk around our beautiful grounds at The Westbury, with one of our lovely resident, we came across these cheerful little daisies blooming everywhere.
Their sweet white petals and golden centres are such a simple, sunny reminder of spring 💛🌼
Can you remember making daisy chains when you were younger? 🫠

Sunday Afternoon Singalong in the Garden at The Westbury 🎵☀️
This afternoon, some of our lovely residents made the most of the glorious sunshine with a wonderful singalong in the garden 😊
With plenty of fluids, parasols up, and the sun shining down, they all joined in with their favourite songs. There were plenty of smiles, lots of laughter, and a real sense of happiness in the air.
We hope our neighbours enjoyed the music and sang along with us! 🫠🎶

This afternoon we enjoyed a lively game of Card Bingo at The Westbury.
Our residents had great fun competing to be the first to shout “Bingo!”
It was a very close, with Maureen taking first place, closely followed by Barbara and Andrew.
Congratulations to our winners, who all enjoyed their prizes of chocolate and biscuits! 🍫🍪
Well done to all that played, it was a very close game!🫠

Today, part of the day was spent visiting some more of our lovely residents in their rooms 🥰
One of these residents was James. We had lovely chat about all sorts of things, including the beautiful sunshine ☀️🌞 We also enjoyed watching a little of his favourite crime drama, Inspector Morse.
It’s always so rewarding to share these one-to-one moments with our residents, they always brighten everyone’s day! 💛
